I’m at the library printing resumes again and so are a lot of other people. Another guy sits next to me at the other computer and I double take cuz he looks so familiar and I can’t place why. After a minute I remember and realize he really looks like Abner Krill.
Man is also working on resumes I know this because he prints some out too. He’s in a dress shirt, slacks and a tie and looks like he’s going to pass out any moment. I’m like man I feel that-
We make eye contact at some point and he again almost looks like he’s going to pass out. I offer a polite encouraging smile and he stares too surprised to speak. I was just gonna go so he didn’t actually faint but he finally speaks in the quietest awkward voice after staring for a minute and trying to act like he wasn’t,
“It’s tough out there huh?”
He noticed the resumes I was stapling.
“Yup. Not easy.”
We both sigh and he smiles back “yeah.”
I put mine in my folder and he goes “I should have thought of that.”
“Dollar store.”
“Oh. Yeah. Okay. Well. Good luck.”
“You too.”
Awkward pause then he turns and walks out of the library as fast as possible
